The 23-year-old's emotional display apparently did not sit well with Chilavert, though, as a social media account associated with the goalkeeper criticised Vinicius. A reply from the account to the video of the Real Madrid star's emotional outburst read: "Bread and circus, he is the first one to insult and attack rivals. Don't be a f*ggot, football is for men."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Vinicius has been the victim of racist abuse on several occasions in Spain. After a high-profile incident against Valencia last season, the attacker voiced his anger on social media and said La Liga "belongs to racists". He has since vowed to keep fighting against racism in Spain so that future generations do not have to suffer such abuse.
